WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
This course is suitable for advanced beginners who want to learn how to sew lingerie. You'll leave the course with a thorough understanding of lingerie sewing techniques and the ability to apply them at home. You should be able to confidently use a sewing machine but you do not need to have ever sewn lingerie before.
WHAT WILL THE COURSE COVER?
Over five weeks of evening classes we'll be covering all of the basics in lingerie sewing. We'll start with sewing pants in week one, weeks two and three will focus on soft cup bras (bralettes) and weeks four and five we will progress onto sewing a full cup underwired bra. We'll also cover materials, fitting and how to make pattern adjustments. Each week will further your skills and at the end of the course you'll feel comfortable and confident sewing lingerie independently. You'll also have a new pair of pants and two bras!
The class includes all materials and supplies, including the bra and pant patterns. We'll be using the Madalynne 8228 pant and bralette pattern and the Cloth Habit Harriet underwired bra. We recommend that you bring along your own sewing machine to learn on, but we have Janome machines to use if you are unable to bring your own along. Sweet treats and drinks available throughout the class to keep you going.
The workshop will take place in our canal-side studio by London Fields in Hackney, London. It's about 15 minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube station, 5 minutes from London Fields overground station or 20 minutes from Liverpool Street station. The classes will run from 6:30pm-9:30pm.
Payment plans are available - drop us an email at email@example.com if you'd like to set one up.
