Make the top of the season and hack our Everyday Top into your dream tie front blouse! During the class we will hack the pattern and sew up your tie front top. If you’re new to pattern hacking, we’ll take you through all of the steps you need to adapt your pattern and we’ll spend the rest of the day sewing up your dream top!

+ How to take your measurements and pick the right size

+ How to hack your pattern to create a tie front

+ How to make new pattern pieces, including a facing and ties

+ How to adapt instructions for your hacked top

+ How to construct your new top

This is a practical class and you will leave with your new blouse!

This class is suitable for confident beginners and intermediate sewists. You need to know how to use a sewing machine, but might be your first time adapting a pattern.
The Everyday dress/top pattern comes in UK sizes 6-34 with a chest measurement range of 79-149cm. If you fall outside of this size range, please do get in touch.

+ Use of our Pfaff Ambition 635 sewing machines in the classes. If you'd like to learn on your own machine then please do bring it along - please let us know the model in advance and bring your manual with you.

+ All tools and equipment

+ A copy of the Everyday top and dress pattern

+ Drinks and sweet treats to keep you going throughout the class.

+ 2.25-2.6m of medium weight, non-stretch fabric such as a linen, cotton or a medium weight drapey viscose or silk
+ Approximately 0.5m of fusible interfacing in a matching weight to your fabric.

The workshop will take place in our studio around the corner from Broadway Market. We have a dedicated workshop room at the back where you can sew in peace and still see the hustle and bustle of the shop. It's about 15 minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube station, 5 minutes from London Fields and Cambridge Heath Overground stations. The studio is at ground floor level with no steps. It is fully accessible and has a fully accessible toilet.
