Sew a Zadie Jumpsuit with Paper Theory

Date: Saturday 2nd November


Various dates available, 11am - 6pm one day

The workshop will take place in our shop behind Broadway Market. It's about 15 minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube station, 5 minutes from London Fields and Cambridge Heath Overground stations. 



Learn the easy and most efficient way to make a wrap jumpsuit from start to finish with plenty of tips along the way to get a professional finish and good fit. You'll be using the Zadie Jumpsuit pattern by Paper Theory, a must have for every season!


+ How to staystitch your neck edge to pattern measurements so you always get a professional finish.
+ How to sew a single layer slant pocket with a french seam.
+ How to create your own bias binding and apply the binding finishing to neck edges.
+ Basic fit adjustments


+ A copy of the Zadie Jumpsuit pattern sent to you in advance of the class so you can cut your pattern and fabric
+ Use of our Pfaff Quilt Ambition 2.0s (you can bring your own sewing machine if you'd prefer)
+ Use of all dressmaking tools such as tape measures, fabric scissors, thread, pins etc
+ Drinks and sweet treats throughout the day. Lunch is not provided but we are located by Broadway Market which has lots of amazing cafes. On a Saturday there is a food market which is not to be missed!


+ Cut out jumpsuit ready to sew.
+ Matching thread. One roll for the sewing machine and four rolls for the overlocker (we have black, white and navy overlocker threads available to be used)
+ 25mm Bias Tape maker (not essential I can show you how to do it by hand, but they are very helpful tools)


Advanced beginners. Anyone who has some basic skills and has used a sewing machine before.


Tara has been living and working in London as a pattern cutter for 12 years and has worked right across the industry from high street stalwarts like Top Shop and All Saints to luxury catwalk brands like J.W Anderson, Erdem and Roland Mouret.  She loves to teach and has helped many university students bring their graduation collections to life. For the last six years she has been volunteering her spare time as a teacher with the award winning charity F.A.D who teach fashion courses to 16 -19 year olds and she is very passionate about sharing all the skills she has picked up after more than a decade working in the fashion industry.
Tara is also the founder of Paper Theory patterns which sells contemporary sewing patterns and online tutorials as a simple solution to help people create their own sustainable wardrobes. Moving the fashion industry towards a more sustainable system is her biggest passion, and she enjoys helping people find ways to still enjoy fashion but in the least impactful ways possible.
