The workshop will take place in our workshop space just around the corner from Broadway Market. It's about 15 minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube station, 10 minutes from London Fields and Cambridge Heath overground stations.
PROJECT
Make your own matching set of gorgeous lingerie in this class, using our own Ava Bra and brief patterns. The Ava Bra is a soft-cup triangle bra designed for mesh fabric with excellent stretch and recovery, making it super comfortable. The Ava’s also got an impressive level of support. This is one of our all time favourite bra patterns for everyday wear and we know you’ll love it too! The size range is 26A-42JJ. You'll be able to choose from either our High Waist, Hipster or Thong pattern to make your matching briefs from too.
WHAT WILL THIS COURSE COVER?
If you've ever wanted to learn how to sew lingerie, this class is for you! Suitable for intermediate sewists, the class will cover:
+ How to measure your body and pick a bra size
+ Choosing fabric and notions for bra making
+ How to cut your fabric, including tips for stretch fabrics
+ How to stitch and finish lingerie seams
+ How to attach elastics
+ Which elastics to use for different areas of lingerie projects
+ An optional fitting at the end of the class to help with future adjustments
The skills learnt in this one day class will prepare you to tackle other lingerie sewing patterns at home.
WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
This class is suitable for intermediate sewists. You should feel confident using a sewing machine and following a sewing pattern. You do not need to have previous experience of sewing lingerie but if you do you'll still pick up lots of tips!
CLASS INCLUDES:
+ Use of our Pfaff Ambition 630 sewing machines in the classes. If you'd like to learn on your own machine then please do bring it along - please let us know the model in advance and bring your manual with you.
+ All of the materials and elastics needed to sew your set of lingerie.
+ The Ava Bra pattern and your choice of brief pattern. The full PDFs will be sent to you after the class.
+ All tools and equipment
+ Drinks and sweet treats to keep you going throughout the class.
WHERE?
The workshop will take place in our studio around the corner from Broadway Market. We have a dedicated workshop room at the back where you can sew in peace and still see the hustle and bustle of the shop. It's about 15 minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube station, 5 minutes from London Fields and Cambridge Heath Overground stations. The studio is at ground floor level with no steps. It is fully accessible and has a fully accessible toilet.
