Fab Flats Weekend Shoemaking with I Can Make Shoes

Saturday 13th - Sunday 14th October, 10am - 4pm each day, with a 1 hour lunch break

The workshop will take place in our shop in between Broadway Market and Mare Street. It's about 15 minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube station, 5 minutes from London Fields and Cambridge Heath Overground stations.
In this two day beginners shoemaking course you will learn how to make a pair of fabulous flats from start to finish. Various styles, colours and embellishments available. Vegan? No problem, just let us know :)
Workshops are available for UK sizes 2 – 8.

STUDENTS WILL LEARN:

+ Design and pattern making
+ Leather selection
+ Construction of uppers
+ Covering insoles, including memory foam inserts
+ Lasting the Lining
+ Inserting stiffeners
+ Lasting the uppers
+ Finishing touches
+ All materials required to make your shoes
+ A lovely drawstring shoe bag to take your shoes home in
+ Drinks and snacks throughout the day
STUDENTS WILL NEED TO BRING:
+ A notepad and pen to take some notes are helpful.
+ You are welcome to bring any embellishments you want to use on your shoes.
WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
Amanda is the lady behind independent shoemaking school I CAN MAKE SHOES.
Amanda has been teaching her I Can Make Shoes technique of shoemaking for the past 8 years. The techniques brings the craft into the home by teaching people how to make shoes without the use of any heavy machinery. She'll have you turning your kitchen tables into your new shoemaking studio in no time.
