Felt piping is designed to be covered by your own fabric.  A cotton cord, wrapped in felt that means you can use thinner fabrics but still create a nice rounded piping detail.  This could be used in home furnishing, but would also look great around the lapels of a coat - we are thinking satin piping against wool for a super lux look!
