This ex-designer fabric is an exquisite lace. It is a guipure or 'bobinnet' lace. Cotton flowers are connected with thin plaits of yarn rather than the whole fabric being backed in a mesh. This is a more delicate and labour intensive process than making standard lace. The design features 3D flowers within the centre of the main design. The edge is finished and follows the outline of the design. Medium weight with an incredible softness, lovely structure, and lush handle. Would make a gorgeous dress, sheer top, or use as a statement applique!
