This ex-designer fabric is a velvet. It's soft to the touch and has a beautiful sheen with a canvas backing. The pile is semi-dense but doesn't show marks when rubbed the against the grain. Medium weight and a wonderful mix of structure and great drape. Gorgeous for a dress or home project!
