This ex-designer fabric is a wool. It's a unique woven, which the designer called a wool scuba. It is a woven and not a knit, but it has a bouncy structure and handle that resembles a scuba knit. It is soft and smooth, with a cool feeling to the touch but the warmth of wool. It's light to medium weight, and would make a lovely jacket or pullover!
