This ex-designer fabric is a silk shantung. Shantung is similar to a taffeta, with similar crispness and high lustre, but with some worsted yarns for a rich, eye-catching texture. Lightweight with good structure, making it perfect for eveningwear and accessories alike. Commonly used in high-end clothing and makes a characteristic rustle noise as you move. Perfect for sewing occasion wear!
