The deep dive class will take place in our shop just around the corner from Broadway Market. It's about 15 minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube station, 10 minutes from London Fields and Cambridge Heath overground stations.
CLASS OVERVIEW
In this three hour class you will take a deep dive into pockets! If you've struggled to sew certain pocket types, found it hard to get a professional finish and want to learn how to confidently sew pockets then this is the class for you. This deep dive will help demystify the construction of a variety of pockets and leave you ready to tackle them in your next project!
Our deep dive series are the classes we wish we'd taken when we started our sewing journeys - it would have saved us a lot of unpicking!
WHAT WILL THIS CLASS COVER?
+ How to sew a neat and accurate patch pocket
+ How to sew an inseam pocket
+ How to add an inseam pocket to any pattern
+ How to sew a bound welt pocket
+ How to sew a jet pocket
+ How to get an professional finish on your pockets
+ Tips and tricks for sewing these pockets on various fabric types
This is a practical class and you will complete each of the pocket constructions!
TEACHER BIO
This class is taught by our hugely talented teacher Kirstie. Kirstie has 6 years of experience as both a sewing teacher and as a pattern cutter and designer. Her focus is to provide a calm teaching space to give people the confidence to explore clothes making in a way that matches their needs. In her own practice she is passionate about rebuilding and repurposing to find new methods to work with what is pre-existing.
WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?
This class is for anyone who would like to master pockets and be able to face them confidently in all of their future projects.
CLASS INCLUDES:
+ Use of all tools including our PFAFF Expression 710 sewing machines.
+ All tools and materials required to sew each pocket type
+ Tea and coffee
STUDENTS NEED TO BRING:
+ Nothing! Everything you need for this class is included in the price. You may want to bring a notebook for some extra notes.
WHERE?
The class will take place in our shop, just around the corner from Broadway Market. It's about 15 minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube station, 5 minutes from London Fields and Cambridge Heath Overground stations. The studio is at ground floor level with no steps. It is fully accessible and has a fully accessible toilet.
