EVENING OVERVIEW
Join us to welcome lettering artist and banner maker Alice Gabb to the studio as she takes us through some of her favourite moments in banner making history in the UK. From secret societies, to peace campaigning, to trade unions, banners have a fascinating history and Alice picks our examples that have inspired and shaped her own practice, exploring the visual culture of social movements and resistance. Alice will be talking for around 45 minutes then there will be a chance to ask questions and learn more about the fascinating history of banners.
We'll open the doors at 6pm and the talk will start at 6.30pm, lasting for around 45 minutes. After there will be a chance to ask questions and shop for fabric.
You can claim 10% off any fabric purchases on the night!
