The workshop will take place in our workshop space just around the corner from Broadway Market. It's about 15 minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube station, 10 minutes from London Fields and Cambridge Heath Overground stations.  

PROJECT

If you've been thinking about getting an overlocker, or have one that you'd like to know how to use properly then this is the course for you! During the day you'll learn how to thread and use an overlocker and make your very own top too. We have overlockers available in the studio but you're also welcome to bring your own one along.

WHAT WILL THIS COURSE COVER?

This course will cover all the basics of sewing with an overlocker as well as some specialist tips and tricks. You will learn:
+ How to correctly thread an overlocker
+ How to adjust the tension and threads for different stitches and uses
+ How to sew stretch fabric on an overlocker to create a garment
+ How to finish seams using an overlocker
The skills learnt in this one day class will prepare you to tackle other overlocker projects at home. 

WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?

This class is suitable for anyone who wants to learn more about using an overlocker. Complete beginners are more than welcome, as well as those who just want to brush up their skills. 

CLASS INCLUDES:

+ Use of our PFAFF Ambition 1000 overlockers.
+ All tools and equipment
+ A copy of the Tilly and the Button Nora top pattern + instructions, or alternative if you'd prefer a men's pattern
+ Drinks and sweet treats to keep you going throughout the class.
+ 10% off in our shop on the day

STUDENTS NEED TO BRING:

+ Pre-washed fabric and matching thread for your top. A medium weight jersey or loopback jersey is best for this pattern. We will email more details after booking.

We have a dedicated workshop room at the back where you can sew in peace and still see the hustle and bustle of the shop. It's about 15 minutes walk from Bethnal Green tube station, 5 minutes from London Fields and Cambridge Heath Overground stations.
